Auckland City hosted Cashmere Technical in round 3 of the National League. Each side entered the round in differing form however the spoils were shared as the game ended in 1-1 draw.
Coastal Spirit 0 v Wellington Olympic 0
Ferrymead Park was the stand-in home ground for Coastal Spirit as they welcomed Wellington Olympic for round 1 of the NZ National League. This was a repeat of the Chatham Cup semi-final in which Wellington Olympic ran out 5-1 winners in unfortunate circumstances. However, it was a much tighter matchup this time round as the match ended in a hard fought 0-0.
Cashmere Technical 0 vs Coastal Spirit 4
English Park saw Cashmere Technical face Coastal Spirit in the English Cup final on a windy spring afternoon. Coastal came out of the blocks rampant with an early 2-0 lead which they ultimately saw out to a 4-0 victory.
Universities FC 1 vs Nomads United 1
Universities and Nomads United played to a 1-1 draw in a closely fought match. Both teams used a fluid 433 formation with varied tactical approaches. Nomads dominated possession early on, while UC focused play down the flanks. Final execution was a struggle for both sides. Nomads' willingness to go long and the youthfulness of both teams were notable.
Cashmere Technical 1 vs Christchurch United 1
Cashmere Technical lined up in their 4231 with a staggered central midfield and wingers wide, in typical fashion. Knight was in goal with an organised back line of McIsaac, Schwarz, Storer and Kane. Double pivot of Ballard and Tongue, with the former holding position and the later getting forward more to be in line with Cottom who was the ‘10’. Mathysen started the game on the left wing, Edwards on the right and Goughlan through the middle who did his usual roaming around.
Ferrymead Bays 2 vs Cashmere Technical 6
A wet Friday night saw Ferrymead Bays host Cashmere Technical. Both teams looking to get their seasons back on track with some recent disappointing results. Bays, have not scored in two league matches were up against a Tech side that lost 3-2 to Dunedin City Royals last week. It took less than 5 minutes for Cashmere to be 2-0 up and from there they ran riot.

Christchurch United showed their relentless attack on visitors Dunedin City Royals. After a brief spell at 1-1 in the first half the game changed and Christchurch United saw themselves click into gear and come away 5-2 winners.
Nomads United 1 vs Ferrymead Bays 2
Nomads welcomed Ferrymead Bays for their first home fixture of the year. With both sides having very different fortunes in round 1 where Nomads went 3-0 down to Dunedin City Royals. Whilst, Ferrymead Bays took a 3-0 win over Coastal Spirit. Nomads took the lead early however failed to capitalise on further chances before Bays turned the game around with a 2-1 win.
New Zealand vs China
The All Whites hosted China DR for the second time this week, in what was a positive showing from the home side. Without talisman and captain Chris Wood, The All Whites faced the struggle to break the goal duck that has now surpassed nine hours. Helped by a first half own goal The All Whites saw out the game as 2-1 winners.
